Jamel Mims is a storyteller, multimedia artist, and organizer based in New York City. A Fulbright Scholar who has spent years studying and participating in the Beijing hip-hop scene, he is also known as the African-American bilingual Mandarin rapper, MC Tingbudong. He has performed extensively across the U.S. and China: including SXSW, China Week LA, Yue Space, and Modern Sky Music Festival. He recently released VIRAL 《不要出门》, an album and interactive virtual world that explores the relationship between China and Black America in an age of pandemic and protest. tingbudong.nyc
